Pom Poko were brilliant on Monday night in Mono. Ably supported by Edinburgh's Bikini Body (whom I've seen a million times) and Congratulations, whom I'd never even heard of but suffice to say I'll definitely be going to see when they come to Sneaky Pete's in March.
Definitely going to get tickets for Heartworms in Edinburgh in February and (cost permitting) probably Glasgow the next night too.
Looking forward to Bodega tomorrow night ... they never disappoint !
I've just been offered tickets for a (sold out) gig to see Big Country (supported by Mike Peters). Was a big fan of BC back in the 80s but have heard very mixed reviews of their live gigs (understandable without Stuart Adamson!?). I think Mike Peters is great but heard he may not be well enough to do the gig. Has anyone any recent experience seeing BC?
Saw BC at a festival in August, and they were enjoyable enough. Here’s a 30 second clip my mate took (despite me scowling at anyone looking at their phones instead of the stage).
Thanks for that Fergus. Won't be going to the gig - my son reminded me that we've got tickets to see Paul Smith in Liverpool that evening. Pity, as it's a nice venue, with a great atmosphere - saw the Inspiral Carpets there last year and have bagged tickets for my daughter to see the Sherlocks there next year
Had some success on the ticket buying for future gigs this week. Bagged a couple of Paul Heaton 'intimate and unplugged' at Pryzm in Kingston next March. And also a table for 2 to see Courtney Pine at The Jazz Club in February
