Similar to Idles last week, £20 inc CD. Played for a just over an hour throwing in a couple of older track. Epic evening.

We missed out on tickets for Psychedelic Porn Crumpets in Leeds, dithered for too long, so hoping some resale might come up when they announce the new date.

I've just been introduced to Maruja who are playing in Leeds in April, liking what I've heard so far so giving them a go. Another new to me band, The Blinders, are coming up soon, also in Leeds. Came to my attention as Alien Chicks, who I really enjoyed the other week, are supporting them. And of course, Pixies in Manchester, which I really can't wait for. Another great few weeks.

That Yard Act gig sounds fab Linds. We saw them last year at Barrowlands with DEADLETTER in support and they were brilliant. We've got tickets for Happy Mondays with Inspiral Carpets later this month, English Teacher in May and Echo and the Bunnymen in August. All in Glasgow.

Is Grace Petrie still doing music or is she pure stand-up now?

New Grace Petrie album is out next week, I believe. The stand up show was supposed to be a bit of a one-off for Edinburgh festival, but then there was a tour of it. Think it's not to be repeated...but I guess never say never. She tells some fun stories between songs in the 'regular' set too :)

I saw The Bug Club tonight, at Village Underground in Shoreditch. Good fun!...they're a bit twee on record, but quite bluesy rock on occasions live. Lots of 2 minute blasts of pop joy with the occasional indulgent jam, it wasn't a gig I'd have picked myself but my friend had a spare ticket...and yeah, pleased I went now, they were better than I expected.

It's nice when that happens Joe1970. We saw The Bug Club last year at The Tunnels in Aberdeen and thought they were good fun. They came on very early pretending to be a different band as support where they dressed up wearing capes and masks. At that point there were only a few people watching. Then the actual support band played, then they played a totally different set to the packed venue.

Also seeing Mary in the junkyard in March in Manchester. Lovely stuff, definitely one to look out for.

We saw the 86TVs last night at the Hare And Hounds in Birmingham.

A 50 minute set of bangers in a tiny room. They won’t be playing small venues for long the way they sounded and performed.

And we’ve just booked a seated gig. Tom McRae playing the NCRM in Manchester in October. Love Tom McRae, can’t wait to see him again.

My son produced this video with them last year as part of his Degree course.
