Bodega were great at Mono in Glasgow last night. However despite the much vaunted claims of how great Glasgow audiences are compared to those in Edinburgh, the audience last night didn't even come close to when I last saw them in Summerhall in Edinburgh. Also looking forward to The Chats in SWG3 tonight (postponed for what seems like years). Also William the Conqueror in Sneaky Pete's on Sunday. |

My daughter called me from a Chats gig last week so I could listen to what she described as the worst band ever (she went with some mates), and she's seen some right old shite in her time. So yeah, enjoy!

Unless there are 20 people or less I wouldn’t call it intimate Dave.

I’d be really pissed off if my wife organised an intimate meal for us and invited 150 People. |

If people are interested, Rick Beato broke down two Foo Fighters songs. He gets access to the individual tracks so can isolate/play the drums/guitars/vocal tracks and hearing the drums in isolation was incredible the first time I heard them. The fills Taylor produces are just insane. I can’t find it now, but years ago I read or saw an interview where Dave was saying that he has never seen a person hit the drums as hard as Taylor, whilst still keeping perfect time. Very sad news indeed, a band I am utterly ambivalent about but my wife will be gutted.

New Model Army at the Cheese&Grain, Frome, on Thursday with Megster and MrJB. Wow. From the moment the opening thundering chord crashed through our chests it was an evening of being an energetic, angry 18 year old again 😎 Support band was Shattercones, definitely worth a listen if the Blues is your thing. |
