Hmm. I wonder if I can pin this bug on the Tories?

My garmin elevation has started playing up, randomly dropping me 500m, and up again shortly after.

Anyone experienced this (my run today will show this in the elevation section, as I have manually adjusted the summary - ascent)

I haven't, but have heard of people getting jumps like that, usually because the barometer chip is dying, often because they don't deal very well with swimming. Do you swim with it? What model is it, does it have maps?

They are designed for swimming but some of them used chips that could be damaged by chlorinated water if I remember rightly.

Minimag, I have experienced this. It just drops during the run for no reason at all.

I went swimming with a FR 745 last summer but only a few times in a pool. I prefer open water. It's supposed to be a multisport watch so should be working for triathlon. The GPS problem started around New Year, so several months after my last swim in August. So I don't see an immediate connection.

It's a Fenix 6, and I havent been swimming with it. I have researched it a bit, and it might just need the altimeter 'hole' cleaned, I will try that and see if it works.
I have also turned the auto calibrate function to nightly, instead of on to see if that helps

I've found a couple of threads on the Garmin forum for F6 and FR945 doing exactly that, dropping to -500m and then going somewhere vaguely back towards the right elevation. Doesn't seem to be that widespread and didn't see anyone saying they'd resolved it so not all that helpful.
