I've been really surprised how much I've used Garmin Pay on my 645 and how little I've used the Music features. I thought it would be the other way around.

I think they've basically got the GPS / pace / etc features pretty nailed down now, so their scope for product development is either battery life / screen display improvements or more "lifestyle" features so there'll be a continual trend towards mimicking the apple watch I suppose.

HG - I also am a big fan of Garmin Pay, it works brilliantly. I had to take out a Curve card in order for it to be meaningful, the two go hand-in-glove.

As an aside, Curve is pretty impressive in any event. I rarely use my "proper" cards these days, everything goes onto Curve.

Oh I didn't realise it worked with Curve. I opened a Santander account which only gets topped up with a few hundred quid as pocket money occasionally! Might have to do Curve instead. :-) G

Curve makes it easy. Garmin Pay isn't compatible with a lot of UK banks/card providers (Santander is an exception), so it's a bit of a no-brainer.

Just off-piste for a moment, Curve is one way of still being able to use Visa with Amazon (i.e. Curve's top level is MasterCard debit). Has that Amazon v Visa kerfuffle been sorted yet??

Not that I've heard. Bad timing for me, my bank recently announced they were going to switch all their credit cards from Mastercard to Visa :(

So Curve is working pretty well for all of you then?

Very, very occasionally I've had an odd refusal on it; not sure if that's been because of the nature of the card or the retailers profile, but that happens every now and then with other cards too (there should be no issues with credit limits etc etc for me, but perhaps multiple uses on the same day or other things like that sometimes result in refusals).

Same. I've probably had no more than one or two refusals and I can't pinpoint why they happened. If I have one problem with Curve, it's that I sometimes forget which is the default payment card ..... this can lead to distressing interviews with Bobs when I've made what I vainly think is a secret purchase.

I used my Curve card twice and had it declined both times (and both times used the actual linked card with no issues). I haven't used it again. I found their support lackadaisical. I've stuck with a second current account with Starling and keep that topped up with enough for watch purchases.

Odd how different experiences vary - I found their customer services incredibly quick when I challenged why one £5 transaction had been refused - they got back to me in about 2 hours. Whatever works, works though!
