other than brute force, the only thing I can suggest is to take it back to the shop or send it off to garmin for repair.
or if it has only 'electronically jammed', rather than being physically stuck, you could try a hard reset by powering on holding down mode. This will wipe all data and settings!

Aargh, help! My Garmin won't upload its data either to sportstracks or garmin TC. It is however happily charging from the USB socket. It isn't anything to do with courses, as I don't create any. Any ideas?

Actually, s'ok, sorted. Had to re-install the drivers from the garmin website. Works again now.

Can I ask a question please? Yesterday I used an advanced training workout to pace me through my half marathon - 4 miles in 29mins, 4 miles in 28mins, 4 miles in 27mins and 1.1 miles in 6.35 making up the 13.1miles. On the gun I hit the Garmin start button and off it went. At the finish line I hit the stop button and total time came in at 41 seconds faster than the official result.
How could I have lost 41 seconds en route when all I did was hit the start and the start and stop at the stop? Feel a bit guilty as I was pacing a Fetchie to a pb that in fact wasn't when the results came out

You probably ran longer than 13.1 miles, and the garmin would have stopped after 13.1 miles, i.e. 41 seconds before you crossed the official finishing line. I have never done a half that was exactly 13.1 miles (probably cos of me weaving around) so avoid using these advanced features in races.

Autopause was off Ian and the distance came in at 13.11 so shouldn't explain the 41 secs - it's a mystery!
