can hard reset without draining battery by (iirc) holding lap key down while turning it on. I thinkit asks you if you are sure when you do this (but please excuse me if I don't test it right now!)

Ahhh, that's it Flanker, does that then erase everything and reset to factory settings?

FYI - the article:

Great to see folk adding bits to it as they think of stuff too, thanks. :-)

Ian - it erases all data and personal settings iirc. But then if you reconnect the reset 305 to TC it recognises the profile is different and gives you the option to copy back your profile (again, all from memory - not done this for a while!)

FCC - yes. Somewhere in the settings you can set it to indoor mode. Hang on....

Thanks Garmin gurus. Problem solved, it was Grangemouth 10k course that was causing the problem. :-)

FCC - another way is to hold the mode button for a few seconds and it will come up with the change sport menu. At the bottom you can change it from outdoor to indoor use.

Move about two thirds of the way down the page until you come to the Cardiosport RUBBER Bike Mount.

I have one of these and it fits the garmin Forerunner 305 perfectly, but fit it the opposite way round to the way shown on the picture.

good spot Phil - I've used that to change between bike & run before, but had never noticed the bit at the bottom!
