Maddison now out. Spurs now supposedly have just 8 outfield players who aren't children available. |

Sometimes injury crises are just bad luck and I really don’t know what the stats say but I’d be interested to see the spurs “games missed through injury” totals for the last 20 years compared to the other “big” clubs and compared to the premier league average. I might be completely wrong but it feels like there’s more here than just bad luck. |

Non-Scottish viewers may have missed this, but Stewart Kettlewell, manager of Motherwell (a fan-owned, proclaimedly community centred club) resigned yesterday, citing the effects of abuse on himself and his family as the cause. Although on a poor run currently, the club are still fifth in the league, on one of the smallest budgets and having sold several players.

Kettlebell had a decent win % too. Have to think that most clubs in the SPL tend to always just plod along and pick up wins here and there but Well have been really consistent in the top half.

Just seen this elsewhere, re Postecoglu and injuries at Celtic. Other similar news stories exist from that time. dailyrecord.co.uk And a comparison piece written in the last week. bbc.co.uk |

And here's something from the Standard from a year ago comparing injuries then to both Celtic and Yokohama - where Postecoglu suffered a glut of injuries in 2 of the 3 seasons. standard.co.uk Common theme among those pieces and the experts are the intensity he demands brings about muscle injuries. Perhaps he got away with it before, but as Cheg pointed out above, Spurs haven't got the same relative strength in depth in the PL. |

A good win for Birmingham last night. To come through 2 tough away games against Wrexham and Huddersfield playing Thursday/Tuesday was excellent and with other results mostly going our way there's now an 8 point gap back to Wrexham in 3rd.
