Really sorry for you, GregP.

Sincerely hope I'm wrong and he is a great success.

Nuno will do alright at spurs (though will sign only Portuguese players)

Benitez is an interesting one and makes a lot of sense (discounting the Liverpool connection obviously). Nothing like Alex Mcleish going to the villa though Chris - every villa fan I know hated that move because he'd done nothing of note anywhere he'd been.

Benitez will need to get good results quickly to swing the opinions of a lot of Everton fans, I reckon. Not saying fans are fickle but results talk, if he's successful they'll warm to him. It will take more than a solitary League Cup though (cf. all that Gooner George Graham won with Spurs before they booted him 20 mins before an FA Cup semi-final).

As for Spurs, I'll sit on the fence about Nuno UpsideDownHeadMan and wait to see what he can do. Spurs fans won't be long getting on his back if we're losing (or, worse still, boring to watch) but at least he doesn't come with the baggage of being hugely successful elsewhere. Every cloud, and all that...

I was rather hoping that Spurs came in for Chris Houghton.

Never had a problem with Liverpool players who signed for Everton (Peter Beardsley, Gary Ablett, Don Hutchinson etc) but Benitez feels different.

Can't really explain why either. It just makes me uneasy.

But managers come and go - and so will this one.....eventually

My predictions:

Nuno is a disaster at Spurs - really hope I'm wrong.

Benitez will be a success at Everton.

Ah, the beautiful game, remember that? Let's put down some jumpers and have a socially-distanced kickabout. Long shots only, and no hugging and kissing.
