Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Got a face full of em on the cycle ride home this evening (NW Kent). Lots of soldier (?, the non-flying ones) ants on the march in my garden, while the flyers are taxiing along the runway, checking that the seats are upright, bags aren't blocking the exits and that the doors are set to manual.

Not yet - they're late, around here I reckon to have started 'dealing with' them by July 12th.

No flying ants yet but have been battling walky ants in the kitchen for the last week. We've been in our house for 25 years and this is the first time.

I've thrown ant powder around behind the kitchen unit plinths, emptied and cleaned the larder cupboard and cleaned all hard surfaces with a range of lemony or vinegary things. There seem to be fewer of them now, in a couple of localised spots, but still not exterminated.

Thinking of escalating to a flame-thrower next. Bastards.

Got something to say?
