Very good. When I first taught myself crawl, I found that when I good do something like 4x200m FC with rests in between, the step up to swimming continuously to longer distances wasn't as bad. I guess it's like first step is to run a mile, then 5k, then once you get there, getting to 10k is relatively ok.

Q on that video.

I'm looking straight down when I'm swimming (maybe 50cm in front at best), because if I look any further forward it hurts my neck.

My feet still drag...

The bow wave thing still doesn't work.

I'm really focusing on pulling through the water instead of just moving through the water
this alone is making 10 (sometimes 15) secs different per 100m alone!
So for now this is my focus
I'm also swapping my friday recovery turbo to a swim so I will have 3 sessions a week (assuming I book in time!)
The pool is definitely getting busier, more people are using toys too and people awareness has gone out of the window
one lady kicked me 3 times today
and someone based my goggles

add the chap who seems to make the biggest splashes and my pool swims are like OW practice now!

Managed another 4 x 100m in the pool today so last week wasn't just a lucky day. Now I need to move up to getting in another length if I am going to reach my target of 200 m by the end of Feb.

I warmed up with 3 x 50m. Can anyone suggest a better warm-up please or even a good session to try and reach my target. Thanks!

I often do 3 or 4 x 200 in my warm up with each 200 being 50 easy, 50 steady, 50 bit faster and 50 hard. You could do that in 100s by halving the distance or you could do that in separate 50's.

What sort of length rest interval are you having between the 100s in the main set? You could try reducing the rest between all 4 100s or between 1 and 3. I think if you can do 4x100 you could definitely do a 200 and just need the confidence to go for it.

I was having a 45sec rest between my 100m but probably could reduce that to about 30 secs. I'm sure confidence has a lot to do with it. I think I just need to turn round after the 100m and see if I can do another length - and another etc. And stop thinking about it. I'm sure I talk myself out of going further than I can.

apologies for being boring but this all quite big milestones for me.

So today I managed 2 lots of 100m fc, 25 bs and 75m fc non-stop so that 200m fc isn't looking too daunting now. Plan is to move that length of bs out each week by 25 m until I don't need it anymore. Bit like jeffing but for swimming!
