I may return to find that either my colleagues have voted to ban taking leave on the week before Christmas or one of them has bagsied it for next year.

Badger Dec 2017 8:52am, 22 Dec 2017 8,941 posts	0 Badger I'm entitled to a non transferable day off today, along with about half of the staff (newer staff have different terms, it's a TUPE thing). My calendar is about as full of appointments as usual, so that's not happening then. Includes mri safety training for some body who started yesterday.

They came round at 5pm - which is the normal finish time... (and were apparently shocked by the number of empty desks!)

I choose to stay until 5 - the work needs doing, if I bugger off now it will still have to be done. January is a crippingly busy time so any work done now is worth double in saving time in jan (less interruptions/meetings etc so work can be done efficiently as well) Also working the 3 days between Xmas and new year, as every year, for the same reason.

This isn't helping with them either, it's just helping me get over the dismay that a random document I wrote in 2009 doesn't have as much detail as I remembered it having.
