We get a half day on Christmas eve. They give it to us in our holiday allowance then say we need to use it on that afternoon and take it back again. I'm taking the other half day off to make it a full day (and indeed the two days before it to turn it into a full week).

I'm working between Christmas and new year, but we usually get allowed to go home early on new years eve. All very unofficial and at the discretion of the most senior person in the office. The email only goes to people who are actually in the office, and you can usually expect it shortly after lunchtime. Except last year when I was desperately trying to complete a deal by year end and ended up working until just before 5 anyway.

Early shift. Will finish at 14:30. We don't do finishing early anymore, some poor buggers will be there until 22:00, and some overnight and into Christmas Day. The customers don't sleep...

I'm 'working' from home today. As in my laptop will be on and I'll be monitoring my emails / phone / jabber but the amount of pro-active actual work is (hopefully) going to be limited.
