Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Is there a minimum distance you have to cover before you start planting flowers? I've noticed mine seen to spring up on the far parts of a route 🤔

My area's fellow member seems to have stopped .. he's got bugs popping up all over the place and is no longer infecting mine. I hope I haven't put him off!

Flowers are planted at half mile points in your route if those locations are outside all players circles.

So the minimum distance is half a mile. I saw an interesting example of that yesterday, from someone planting a flower whilst surfing :-) (1.1km logged)

But you start planting almost as soon as you leave your circle, so in theory you could dart in and out of it and plant lots of flowers in a small area (I think so anyway).

I saw an example of lots of flowers planted very close together, all by the same person on the same day, and could only think that they'd run around the space (a small park) until they'd covered about 5 miles.

I've occasionally considered running around a short loop close to work, just under or just over a mile in length, a few times and planting lots of flowers which I could then water and harvest. But actually doing it on top of doing everything else is unlikely to happen.

There's a small section of road I have been known to cycle up and down, between my circle edge and grid edge, taking note of where flowers are and 0.5 mile points fall.

I think I'm halfway to the 30 day bug badge. It's been hard work fitting it in with work, even on the days I'm wfh!

I'm 11 days in - aiming to keep bug-free throughout September. As most of my activity is walking at the moment it takes a good hour each day - but it's also good motivation to get running again and cycle a bit more too!
