I remember that there was a walk allowed on the bridge on the Second Severn Crossing on one day just before the bridge opened. However, unlike the original Severn Bridge, which has a dedicated lane for pedestrians and cyclists, the new one is now inaccessible to walkers and cyclists. (Boo!)

*blushes* Perhaps I should do something for the podcast? I've pondered it.

The Pathetic Motorways thing had an odd coda: Fetch made a comment on the original blog, and shortly afterwards ...

(I have a motorway, the M80, running pretty much the length of my circle. Due to parallel roads, most of it is accessible (without going onto it!) It also crosses my WSW grid, with the aforementioned M876 passing through another fourteen squares.)

Any road project for motor routes should include active transport routes, just like housing developments must have affordable housing as part of the planning application.
The routes don't have to be next to each other, but planning permission should be tied to 'inclusive routing'.

That is a bizarre motorway. Then again the whole central belt motorway system is bonkers.

You know those moments when you learn hard lessons very quickly? 4 of 7 of my bugs were in a reasonably close area so I planned my run for tomorrow ... then decided to tweak my circle so my house is just outside it and then they all regenerated in terrible places that I can't get to! And all spread out :-o Lesson learnt! I'm reporting the ones I can't get to but they're not being helpful in the regeneration places .. will get there in the end ^_^

Honestly though, is it normal behaviour to spend so long planning a run around tarmac and cul-de-sacs? (I suspect yes .. addiction here I come?).
