SO FRUSTRATING!!

Not usually an early runner but a hectic day ahead so out for a run at 6am. Quick check on my phone to see where my two bugs are. Made sure they were on my route and I left my circle. Had a great run.

Just looked at the map, two bugs there, in completely different locations!

Think I was viewing a cached page!

Sorry to hear that Stu. It could also have been that they were due to be retired, but that the server hadn't gotten around to processing your local markers by the time you went for a run. Frustrating nevertheless.

I've done some work on some performance issues today. Specifically (if you want to know), I've done some stuff that will make the nightly backup run a little bit quicker, which means that I can give the marker spawning scripts (I call it the 'daily feed') continuous free reign to do their work from 4am. Previously, they'd get an hour of server time at 1am, which was usually enough, but if it didn't finish, it wouldn't get a second opportunity until 8am. I looked at the last 20 days*, and it needed a bit of extra time on five occasions.

*Time taken to complete spawning (mins): 84, 47, 42, 37, 43, 41, 92, 54, 42, 34, 44, 83, 103, 65, 81, 29, 28, 45, 41, 37

So now the schedule looks like this:

Midnight - bug penalties and bonuses are applied (this takes about 10 minutes)
1am - retiring old markers (this takes about 30 seconds)
4am-midday - daily feed - spawning new markers

In theory then, so long as your morning run starts after 5am, you've got a 75% chance of all the markers being where you expect them; and if you start after 6am, it'd take a bit of a perfect storm to not be settled :-)

Morning Lord Fetch

Seems to be a issue with my bugs. Yesterday it jumped from -4 to -12 which i allowed for new bug appearing before the bug penalties were ran. Today its done -20 even though i only have 4 bugs. Not entirely sure what is going on here or if it affects others.

The bug i got on the 27th claims to be -12 but i dont have any obvious signs of it being infected.

Had to manually draw this morning's run as it hadn't loaded onto FetchPoint. One bug was left however so so drew another temporary run to remove it but the damn thing remained. Reported it unreachable until it appeared on a saved route, logged that as a run, and now it's gone. Complete faff but now I'm bug free and will try to keep it that way for a while.

Not sure if it's always been the case or whether due to change of timings of a few days ago, but bug bonus disappears when it reaches the oldest day in your account:

It's always done that - or, rather, I spotted it doing that several months ago
