After a few days off fetchpointing cos of the lurgy, I am feeling proud of myself for executing a meticulously planned multiple bug clearance run this morning. But then it dawned on me I'll still only get the same bug bonus as someone who just had one bug to clear. I very rarely have running streak days of more than four days.. Is there any merit in having some sort of sliding scale for bug clearance bonuses?

Not sure about that - if people are motivated enough to get out every day to clear their bug (and I am not one of them) I think they deserve their bonus.

They would still get a bonus each, say 100points if you only had one bug to clear, but if you missed a few days then cleared them all you get 150/200/250etc up to a max of say 500?

But the point of the game is to incentivise local regular exploring.

3rd day with no diamonds or sapphires - how often are we supposed to get any? I thought we had a daily top up?

I don't think that there is a simple solution to make everyone happy. I don't run everyday of the week so don't get 7 bonuses but, on the other hand, I run 6 or 7 miles each day when I do so picking up one bug is fairly easy and it randomizes the direction in which I set out on my run. For me, it would be ideal if there were some "joker" that I could collect on the days I run and then play on the days I don't. Not suggesting this be added to the game, but we all see the game from a different view and would like a tweak here and there to suit our own patterns.

I know it would probably cost a fortune in licencing, but I really wish I could overlay my markers on an OS map. There are a few large blank areas on the Google map that have footpaths running across them. I'm having to use my paper map to try and work out which bugs are accessible or not. The satellite view helps for the footpaths that are used enough to have a visible line across a field, but useless for woodlands!
