Positives. Day 25/30 iron series completed. Still loving it.

Positive and negative. Foot is fine when walking now, no pain, but I haven't tried running.

Negatives I seem to be gaining weight every time I jump on scales.

Summary for a fat loss forum and running site I'm failing miserable. 🤔🤫

Seconding GG - Pam Runs, I love hearing about your iron series journey. Presumably this means you're feel stronger and rocking it.
Always tricky (happy to be shot down here) trying to lose weight and get stronger at the same time - I think get your tape measure out instead of scales while working on strength.

Cheering everyone on!

Lip Gloss - as geordiegirl says MFP gives ridiculously low daily calorie allowance.

I also set my daily calorie allowance (2300 for me). I log my exercise but not at MFP rates, just for the record, but I don't eat the exercise calories. You can set your macros too, which is very important for me.

Pam - I agree with the others, you're winning it. Hard to expect a weight loss when you usually run but aren't able to yet. Good news the foot is healing.

GOTD - absolutely, measurements are much more important and motivating than a figure on the scales.

Thanks. TBF I struggle to eat 1,200 most days so I do need to investigate and find things to tweak.
No idea about Macros but again I will go looking

Not exactly helpful for losing weight .. but my partner took me out for a birthday meal earlier. Parsnip soup to start, pork with roasted peppers to follow and passion fruit & ice cream for dessert. Suppose I'd better mention the small glass of wine as well while I'm confessing? ;) Seriously though, it's the first time we've been out for a meal in ages and I enjoyed it a lot. The birthday carries on into next week - my partner has booked me a 90 min hot stone massage for next Wed afternoon.

I'm away visiting my Mum again tomorrow and staying at the local Premier Inn. So the counter-measures are that I'll go for a brisk 4-5ml walk after seeing my Mum and before I eat. And I'm foregoing the 'meal deal' (which has gone up in price). As I think I may have mentioned, I don't 'need' the pint of beer, pudding and full English breakfast. So if I don't find a ready meal at the services, I'll just have a main course in the evening and either way, will take some instant porridge with me for Fri morning before heading home.

Happy birthday Mel and a 90min hot stone massage sounds blissful. Enjoy.

LG I used to be a habitual low calorie eater I still struggle with 1800 most days but I have learnt to eat more. I have switched things back to full fat - low fat is often higher in things other than cal/fat and I will have little extras here and there. It did give me a wow moment many years ago I thought my training was paying off but I realised I was fuelling better.

My default is still to cut calories low when I’m trying to lose weight and it’s counter intuitive.

It isn’t about just eating higher calorie food but some is the little extras you can add to a meal, a bit more pasta an extra couple of potatoes.

Baby steps and enjoy having the option to eat more tasty food.

A day of mixed fortunes. I’ve just eaten tea after a nearly 24-hour fast, i.e. I didn’t consume any calories at all from tea yesterday until tea today. I drank plenty and kept busy. I felt good - I could have gone on, I think, only there were no plans in place to feed Mr.

On the downside - towards the end of my strength session this morning, I must have tweaked something in my right hip. Could have been the leg press, but I think more likely either the squats, or the way I did the glute stretch which felt a bit awkward.

It’s not massively painful, but it is “there”, iykwim. Swimming tomorrow should be fine. If I gym on Friday I can always just do upper body and core and leave the legs out. But I am currently booked in to funcional fitness on Saturday. I’ll give it a day or so and see how it feels - might be more sensible to give that a miss.

One of my extras I was reminded off at tea tonight - a sprinkle of grated cheese on my spag bol.

Thanks. I'll keep trying but I need to eat different as what I'm doing isn't working.

Did a different Caroline tonight for a bit of fun. Epic Endgame Day 25. Loved it cardio and kick boxing moves. 🥊
