oh yes! as far as I know, unless I've been ill, at no point have I ever lost weight when not trying to

I stepped on the scales last night before bed and cried :-(
Today so far I have had no syns and tonight's meal will not contain any either. I have also been for a run albeit a short one but I intend going back out this evening.

RH - there have been two times when I lost weight without trying. One when I was doing volunteer work a few days a week which involved a walk to and from, plus being on my feet for several hours. Lost about half a stone over six months. And then doing the Camino - stone and a half in six weeks. But, as already observed, replicating those conditions in normal life is not possible.

Back to my accountability post. Mumble... shuffle.... I was ambushed by a scone with jam and cream, and then by my own lack of menu planning meaning we had nothing for tea, so went to the chippy. I think we can redesignate yesterday as my first Free day of the new regime.

Today I am still within 2lb of IGW (are we surprised? We are not). But I am making this a Strict day. That means while I can eat freely of meat, fish, eggs, salad veg and natural fats, I am limited to one handful of nuts and the only dairy I can have is a glass of kefir (which I will have as an avocado smoothie for lunch) and butter, so all hot drinks will be black today. I’m actually sipping a mug of lemon and ginger tea right now. Absolutely no grains, starchy veg, fruit, cakes, crisps etc.

I like the sound of your strict day - I try to eat like that, but tend to get ambushed in the evening by crisps!

A truly strict keto person would eat like that every day. Too tough for me.... but I think I can do it for one day.

Having said that, I’m now approaching the danger time, i.e. the evening. I’ve had my one permitted handful of nuts, somfrom here on its black tea/coffee, bacon strips or olives only.

I'm trying to resist a small chocolate biscuit bar.

Small victory today: only having 1/4 of the sticky toffee pudding instead of half.
(Each half was 786 calories :-o )
