I've already said that I'm done with road marathons.

But apparently not with hilly trail ones, as I've agreed to do Beachy Head next year.

My eighth time - I know what I'm letting myself in for and I'm looking forward to it.

I have a year to train from a base of essentially zero - and in my mid-50s. So I got out for a short run/walk today as a start.

Good luck with that, sallykate. It was one I thought as a possible for me but now I'm not sure.

Evening all. You can have my share of any club for London too @EvilPixie I will probably have a go at another marathon but probably not London and almost certainly not next year. Hope you get in BHF is a great cause - I’m assuming that’s the British Heart Foundation not the British Horse Federation, which is doubtless worthy in its own way but not quite the same

I actually ran tonight, which has been nowhere near as commonplace as I would like. I don’t mind the dark but it was weirdly warm for the end of October.

I’ve had a funny old year. I’ve never really felt properly in the groove and always behind where I’ve wanted to be but have still run PBS at 5k, 10k & HM (the last beating a time I set in 1997 and which I thought forever beyond me) so I must have been doing something right. All I have to do now is work out what 😂
