The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
*Blushes* here as well. I am going to try and blog every day in Plastic Free July but I don't want to promise. For example I don't know if there will be a signal at the Swoosh and I may run out of ideas but I'll do my best.
Started listening on my walk today and will split the podcast in two and enjoy your company on my way home tonight.
Great timing on explaining recovery from Katie as my got a little twitch as I was doing calf raises while cleaning my teeth this morning so decided to stretch and roll rather than getting out for a run. Bit annoying as the weather was great for running, but I live to run another day. Will also check out some plastic reduction ideas
Fetch water bottle! I nearly bought the parkrun one (£25 by the way! :-O) but asked for it for birthday and didn't get it. What about a Fetch one? Gauge interest in usual way Fetch and see if I'm in a minority of more than 1?! G
I actually thought that reusable water bottles would be plastic. But of course, they don't have to be. I'm not really up to speed with alternatives to plastic. My water bottle at gym is a plastic (bike) bottle. And at work I just reuse a 500ml bottle of coke or sparkling water that I've bought. And refill it a couple hundred times.
So non-plastic options seemed to be stainless steel or glass (though the protection around it appeared to be foam or plastic of some sort). I did think steel would rust (and a couple of reviews I've read said that they can indeed). I don't really need it to be insulated. I won't ever use it for anything other than tepid water at my desk. It doesn't need to be transported often, but just glass would be a bit fragile. So what style of bottle would I buy? Anyhoo, this is for the plastic free thread, not here! G
I don't think I'd buy a plastic one - we already have too many bike bottles in our house to justify any more. Like Happy says, there are lots of other options nowadays.
