I remember the golf club because we were walking alongside it and we suddenly got "sign anxiety" - that feeling that we hadn't seen a sign for some time that makes you worry that you might have missed a turning. It was only the presence of the golf club that made us continue (correctly, as it happened!) because we just assumed that the golfers wouldn't have wanted the route going across their course.
