Friday Night we went to the Brasshouse, because it was right next to the hotel, drinking stuff from a brewer called the BackyardBrewhouse (Gold and The Hoard), pretty good. As for the cricket, Edgbaston had Pedigree and Hobgoblin (which is a verypoor beer these days, 4.5%, very thin, all the maltyness has gone, I guess they use sugar/colour rather than malt, very poor), it used to be such a good beer. They also had something called New World Pale Ale, also by Marston's, 3.9% light and hoppy, just right for a day at the cricket. Well it must have been, I had 8 pints of it....
