Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

If anyone is in the Gloucester area, I'd highly recommend visiting the Brewhouse and Kitchen at the Quays. They do some wonderful homemade beers here, particularly the Stevedore and Down a Pegg.

Perfect Organism
I got a helpful tweet the other day from a company called crafty hound informing me that they were having a flash sale. I got a 12 can mixed case of craft beers for £11.50 which is pretty decent.

The other day I drank one called Heart and Soul from the Vocation Brewery in Hebden Bridge. It was bloody lovely! Zesty, fruity, tropical, crisp, and refreshing, all perfectly balanced. Highly recommended.

Had a visit to the Sheringham Beer Festival at the weekend on the North Norfolk coast. If you ever get a chance to go it's well worth it. It's not a CAMRA organised event but it is free admission and then every beer/cider is £3.60 a pint (or was this year) regardless of strength. It's held at the railway station which is the home of the steam railway running between Holt and Sheringham - they make a few train carriages available for seating as well as seats on the platform and you can watch the steam trains come in and out......makes a nice change from a beer festival in a marquee on a playing field or a local town/village hall..... Some nice real ale pubs around in the local area too.....

Seeing such glorious weather today reminds me that I'm off to Adnams country soon. Can't wait to trying out a good selection while enjoying the Suffolk coast.

I might give their new craft beer (Mosaic) a try before I go as a work colleague will be in the area a week before me. Another Adnams fan!

So, I managed to visit three pubs this weekend, as it was my birthday and all. Firstly The Magnet down in Stockport, the best pub in toen, pizza guy in the car park, 3 beers, American Pale Ale, from Dark Star (excellent), Neck Oil from Beavertown (goodish), Citra from Oakham Ales which was excellent. Saturday, a pub outside Lancaster after hiking, Boltmaker, from TT, not as good as it could be, but I guess this sort of beer can be a bit run of the mill these days. Last Night down my local, after hiking again, Twin Peaks from Thornbridge which as usual from this brewery was brilliant.

Belated happy birthday WS. I tried Oakham's Citra at the Harwich Beer Festival a couple of years ago and it was one of my least favourite of all time!!!

Really! That sort of beer seems to be more and more up my street, more hops, less malt...I think it might thave been the trip to the States...I looked at Oakham's website last night, mental, it looked like some post industrial games console.

My pub visiting is going very well, I'm sure I'll get to well over 50 new ones for the year....
