Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

They are indeed. I am getting a very soft spot for Thronbridge now. I am not so inclined about RObinson's,it all not bad, I had Double Hop on Friday as well, supposed to be an IPA,quite strong but an IPA it is not.

Just found a bottle of Wadworth 6X in Morrisons. Back in the day it was my brothers favourite tipple. If it isn't how I remember it, at least it only cost a quid

Wadworth 6X went down very nicely thank you.

20+ years ago I used to listen to my brother bang on about how good it was but all I really wanted in those days was a pint of Castle Eden.

Reminded me a bit of Doom Bar, but richer. A great pint and even better at £1 a bottle, I predict another trip to Morrisons.

Proper beers like that were few and far between. I am not a fan of it though, I always thought I could smell the Avon river off of it....I thought it was brewe din Trowbridge, could be wrong, checking...

Devizes, close.

Thinking about it the first beer I had (outside of festivals) that I thought this is for me, was Bateman's xxxx at the Lincolnshire Poacher,Nottingham.

You don't see it much now, but you can sort of trace the the current boom in real ale back to them. I also had a very soft spot for Directors.
