Quimby - I was also a chaser, Walton High School student and also did Tuesday circuits, run, then swim - How I did that I’ll never know!

There was a very strange moment when about half way, on auto and in a flow-like state, when I turned 90 degrees and felt myself ‘flick’ the map like a fidget spinner to orientate it without looking. Years of training and muscle memory.

Unlikely I know, but if anyone's is in the west Yorkshire area on 21/22 July, I highly recommend the Aire fat rascals weekend. 2 high quality sprint areas on the sat and high intensity urban orienteering on the Sunday (which I've mapped and am planning).

I would likely have been doing it had I not got injured earlier in the year. My best mate from college lives just 1km from Culbin and will have done all the mapping of that forest for days 4 and 5. It's a shame you're not doing those days - it's an absolute classic forest orienteering area.

Day 1 and I’m knackered. My first experience of forested sand dunes. Didn’t go well but learnt loads. 11-12 took 16 minutes!
