Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The SPR bit was great for me to hear thank you very much, lol.

Monsenb - I did feel very under developed in that game so felt lucky that your pawn moves helped me out a bit. Great that you're enjoying it.

Thanks for the game, Happy G. I found the slow pace difficult to get used to but that gave me plenty of time to think ahead - and to dwell on my errors!

So *that's* what Missed Win means. Thanks Meglet and SPR. I’ve been really struggling with understanding that bit of the analysis. :)

Just won a ‘killer pawn’ badge! Final move to promote to Queen (two queens!!) and bring mate against Smugbloke. He was one move away from mating my King trapped behind the pawns so quite tight at the end.

Except I’ve just looked for a couple of missed wins and can’t see them. And am wondering why the analysis said I had to use my bishop to take a pawn that would have been instantly taken back.

I’ve also wondered at some of the suggested moves where as far as I can tell it’s a straight one for one.

These were a bishop for a pawn which seemed very unfair!

Sometimes a one for one swap gets you to a better position.

Meglet - Are you clicking on the magnifying glass and playing through the moves? It doesn't necessarily happen straight away.

Bishop takes pawn, if pawn takes bishop, Queen takes rook with check. That one I saw without clicking on the magnifying glass.
