It's supposed to be about fun and intellectual challenge, not sheer endurance. If the team gets enough points for the win overall I shall resign.

On chess.com there are lessons and a 7 day trial to get access to them. Start reviewing them as you play your first couple of games against the lower ranked Fetchies. On the league table linked over there -> there are links to everyone’s profile on chess.com and you can challenge people.

I found the games against the computer useful, especially if you turn on all the ‘help’ at first so it suggests moves to you. But I’ve found the computers nothing like playing a real person and have learned so much more from real games.

SPR Dec 2020 5:29pm, 29 Dec 2020 32,761 posts	0 SPR Fair enough Mac. Dive right in DS. The lowest ranking you can start with on chess.com is 800, so if you're worried about starting to high up in the leagues, you can always ask if Fetch can start you in the bottom league.
