About to book our first overnight outing in the campervan.
Didn't realise you get 16amp v's 10amp hook up. I assume you can do either but it's just the 16would be better?

It will depend on the site STOOSH. From my experience the site will have either all 10 amp points or all 16amp.
16amp will cover most everything, but personally I’ve not had a problem on a 10 amp pitch, but we’ve got a low wattage kettle, don’t have a toaster or hairdryer, which, if all used at once might cause the electric point to trip off.

Most modern sites will be 16amp, but there are still older sites out there with 10amp hookups. I've never had a problem with either really. Mind you, I don't run much. Fridge, lights, 2KW fan heater and sometimes a small camping kettle.

We have microwave which with 2 small children we expect to use frequently.
Think I'll go with the 16 though.

The site I'm booking in the lakes offers both.

That's interesting, never seen an option before. I wonder if they have a new part of the site and an old part maybe. Is there a difference in cost?

The site is park foot at pooley bridge. Looks a fairly big site.

We find we can’t have our fan heater on with our kettle but we just turn the heater off when we fancy a brew!

I do that too, but I'm not sure if I need to or just being cautious. Never tripped it yet.

It will depend on the wattages. If you’ve got a 2kW heater and a standard kettle going at the same time you’ll be drawing well over 10 amps.
