Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Is Skye busy? My pal was there last week and said the area around the Fairy Pools was a joke with vehicles everywhere.

He’s prone to exaggerating then 😀

It could easy have been really busy last week and quiet now, the forecast was rubbish! We were very lucky with Saturday. Ally I will post on munro thread when I get home tonight as I would love to chat about those mountains. Just about to leave Skye.

I really need to get some Skye hills under my belt. It's really not that far for me so I have no excuse but not been back to Skye since our first visit in October 2015 or 2016. To be fair I've done a fair amount of exploring of other parts of the highlands since moving here. The heavy tourist presence puts me off.

We always used to go in May and/or Oct. We were always very lucky with the weather.

I’ve vague memories of Skye in the 70s. Driving from Cumbernauld via a ferry at Ballachulish, then another at Kyle of Lochalsh, then through Skye to Uig, another ferry to Harris then on to my grandparents on Lewis.

We have arrived safely at Maybole- was a tad windy and wet driving down and is currently blowy and raining. Supposed to dry up though but then wind will be consistent.

Scotland sounds wonderful, as always. We need to plan another visit soon.
Today is our last day in Cornwall. We went out at 8:30am again so I could swim in the beach pool whilst the tide was low. It’s been such a gorgeous day - sunny, warm, it too much wind - that we went for a long walk afterwards.

We got a phone call from the caravan site asking if we are ok as no-one has seen us for a few days. No-one else gets up and out as early as us 😁
