Ronnie it's not that busy here in Broadford and we didn't see many folk up Sgùrr nan Gillean and Am Basteir on Saturday even though it was a stunning day. Yesterday was minging though and we went to Portree and every eating place was rammed. Didn't help that half the places were shut as it was Sunday. There were no cars at the fairy pools when we went past but it was very early in the morning. The roads have been quiet. That sounds good. I'll never go in July/August again, but will definitely still go at other times. |

LouLou Anyone used Camperking? Any advice/ tips appreciated! We bought a newly converted three-year old van from them and had a nightmare time with exhaust/emissions/AdBlue monitoring systems all being unreliable. However, I am 99% sure this was due to the original owner of the van being Avis and a lot of its prior use not being what diesels are designed for. If you’re buying a new van, you won’t have any of that, so it needn’t alarm you. As for the conversion itself, we found it all very very good - well designed, well executed! When are you picking it up? |

Thanks - we initially went no heater but have changed to heater now 😂 Our base van has arrived in the UK now so hopefully build will start soon. That sounds rubbish Synge about this issues you’ve had. Any recommendations for insurance companies? |

We got two or three quotes and went with Safeguard (a) because they are specialists and (b) because they quoted the lowest premium. Never claimed, though, so can’t vouch for that side of things.

@LouLou We used A Plan (Thatcham Branch in particular) as it is recommended a lot on the Facebook group I go on. They are specialists in modified vans and took a list of everything that needed to be included in the insurance. Don't go by comparison websites though, as they will insure it as a base van which will drastically undervalue your van. |

We use A Plan for a modified T5 and very bespoke home insurance. They are good brokers for anything that isn’t as it was bog standard out of the factory. And then Adrian Flux for the Moho. |
