Absolutely gorgeous Belly. We were up that way in June (stayed overnight in Gairloch) and really loved it.

The Belly Is Gaun Tae Get Ye
FP we stayed at Sands campsite in Gairloch however the site although perfectly good is not what we want now and is the complete opposite of Mellon Urdigal. According to Conquercise the area had been visited by Fetchies but did not list them. We have decided that it is best to limit time on bigger sites to 2! nights max and seek out smaller or wild spaces like we did in Glen Torridon.

We stayed at Faskally (near Pitlochry) last weekend. Very mixed emotions. No longer accepting tents and all the grass space that used to be available for tents and tourers has now been covered in park homes. Another large part of that land is now claimed by "seasonal tourers" (and you should see the size of their awnings!), which leaves a scant 30-odd pitches for the rest of us.

However, the place is still family-run (albeit it’s the sons/grand-daughters and the old man is very old) and I think that "family" feeling still exists to an extent. The staff must be on to a good thing as they seem to be really happy to be there. It’s clean and well kept and the pool/jacuzzi/sauna was really good. Toilets and showers are plentiful and clean and free.

As I said, mixed emotions. Would I go back? Yes definitely. Would I stay a while? Unlikely.

Great base for some Highland Perthshire tourist classics. Recommend Killiecrankie (Soldier's Leap), Edradour distillery tour and the food at the Moulin Hotel(pub).

We like the smaller sites or completely off grid. We actually stayed in a car park overlooking Gairloch and another car park in Pitlochry. We then get somewhere with disposal facilities every other night or so.
This weekend is a CL close to Wells, and is beautifully quiet.

We are in Wales at a CL near Snowdonia. It’s very quiet, and a good base for walking, and a pub 5mins walk away.

Tigg’s enjoying the morning sun today :)

royal jelly

Not everyone’s cup of tea but we went to a Harley Davidson Owners Rally at a brewery! I had to drive the motor home, even the youngest jelly chose to ride on the back of the motorbike but honestly my driving isn’t that bad!

We’re in a lovely spot in Derbyshire for a couple of nights, which just happens to be the home of a much-loved Fetchie:

Jealous!

Van is still on my driveway dripping oil :( Brownhills say they’re still waiting for a new sump pan. A quick google tells me I could have one here tomorrow, but not a Fiat labelled one. Seeing as the van is 4, surely it wouldn’t have to be a part direct from Fiat, for which we could be waiting weeks
