Lots to do and see around Skipton. Bolton Abbey might be a good start? Stump Cross Caverns? Pateley Bridge? Walk up to Simons Seat?

Malham cove is a favourite of mine just up the road from Skipton. You can make a circular walk taking in Malham cove and Gordale Scar including a bit of a scramble / climb if you’re feeling braver than me. In Skipton itself there’s the castle, and the market is worth experiencing - although I expect these days it’s probably like any other market…
Agreed on Bolton Abbey and the Strid.

Cycle from Grassington to Buckden possibly with a detour to Arncliffe. Settle is worth a visit. The best kept secret of that area is Pinhaw beacon above Lothersdale. Stunning 360 degree views. And can be easily accessed from the road.

We're currently isolating as our souvenir from Glastonbury was COVID, but feeling much better now, and hoping for a mini break next weekend beside the Kennett and Avon canal

I’m feeling rather proud of myself this evening. When I went to start the MoHo to leave Coniston this morning the battery was flat. I managed to find a fellow camper to give me a jumpstart and had the foresight to keep the engine running while I emptied the toilet, etc.
I wasn’t sure if the battery would charge while driving - it has in the past - but I didn’t want to take any chances and it was going to be a 3+hr journey home. By chance I pulled into an A road service station - ie a garage with a shop and a loo. As I looked at my options I spotted a spot up a slope, so reversed up it - just in case I needed to bump start the van. I also went for a wee and picked up some food so I wouldn’t need to stop again.
And guess what? The battery was still flat so I had to test out my bump starting skills - phew! I then drove home - carefully so I wouldn’t need fuel - unloaded very quickly with the engine still running - and then dropped it off at storage. Battery is knackered.

Very good skills!
You should meet my opposite neighbour, he expressed surprise to see me reversing the van out of next door’s driveway (they’re away in their caravan and our drive has been mended) and parking up in ours
“Why didn’t you wait for L to get home to do that for you? It’s a big thing for you to drive”
Cheeky blighter, got a very hard stare for that!

I didn’t think twice about the reversing part… more having the forethought to give myself a half chance of being able to bump start it!
