If the reading is true, then the high consumption is inexplicable, but at least there'll be no problem putting 10 litres in.

Do you fill up at the pump of from a container? We were really lucky that our local garage had adblue on pump (one handy thing about being close to the docks)

The last fill was done during the service. And for the first couple of months since, there has been nothing untoward.
There are no AdBlue pumps within 50 miles of here, so I have ordered a couple of 5-litre bottles on Amazon which should be here on Tuesday. I'll put one in and see what happens. (Apparently overfilling the tank can create a problematic vacuum which stops the AdBlue feeding into the diesel in the way that it should. This is why the display shows a minimum *and* a maximum recommended refill volume.)

Er, possibly not into the diesel, but into the exhaust. (See, I'm out of my depth here!)

Synge, I’ve never used it, but just letting you know that I think there’s an AdBlue pump at the Texaco garage at the top of Telegraph Hill near Haldon.
I bought 10L and used that to top mine up when the warning light came on (which still has about a range of 500 miles at that point). My tank is 20L, so 10L is fine for mine in terms of not overfilling it (mine’s not a VW though).
Presuming no leak, is it possible there was an airlock in the system when it was last filled, and as it’s now settled down you need to top it up again?

Yes we used to hear all about the filling issues but thankfully never had any due to using the pump.
Hope it sorts itself out

Amazingly I’ve managed to get a booking at Castleton on Wednesday night and one at Carsington on Thursday. I’m sure it will be packed, but a couple of nights away in the motorhome will make it all worthwhile…

Thanks, both. (Big G, I *think* they just sell bottles of the stuff, I don't think there's a pump, but it's pretty hard to be sure on the basis of internet listings.)
I'll report back on Tuesday. By the way, the reason for buying bottles on Amazon is that they definitely come with a filler spout, which eliminates at least one area of complexity.
