Love the Giants Causeway. It’s spectacular. Very close to Bushmills distillery too, if you like that sort of thing… We stayed at a stunning campsite in bushmills. Got a cracking meal in the bushmills Inn. The distillery was closed, but not sure I'd have went anyway. |

GimmeMincepies is your van the CV-20? I think we’ve finally come to a compromise, between the little van I want and the monster Husband thinks we need, and that, or similar from another brand is where we’ve ended up Just need to find one now, either wait until next spring for a new one or hope a second hand one turns up somewhere soon Anyway, main Q was: do you think the club membership etc that Brownhills offer is actually worth it? |

Yes it is, RH and it really suits us. We found it perfect for our Scotland trip, both on and off-grid. We could get everywhere we wanted to without any of those hair-raising moments down narrow roads. The membership is beneficial for getting discount from their accessory shop - 10% all year and occasional offers of 20% (we saved a fair bit on buying our awning from them). The events they put on are fine, but I wouldn't join solely for those. Apart from the pie and peas. Oh and their Christmas dinner We have been impressed with their after-sales customer service. They do seem to go out of their way to try and solve problems in a way that makes the customer happy and there is always the offer of staying overnight (no cost) on their "site" if they need your van for any reason. We are booked for Thursday night next week so they can have our van at 8am on Friday morning to sort out the engine light and we are booked for the night before our habitation check is done in December too. Of the different dealers we've bought from Brownhills have been the best. |

Thanks for that If I can’t find a 2nd hand one soon I may put a deposit down on one for next April, need to make mind up soon, before the cost goes up again (apparently they can’t legally hold deposit if you change your mind, so that wouldn’t stop me still shopping around still anyway) |

We were told that you can get your deposit back only if the van is delayed as they have, in effect, breached the contract, so you might want to check that with them. People who have ordered new CVs are still having delivery dates postponed on the FB forum we go on. |

I asked the q directly- the way things are at the moment they’d have no problem selling it It’s delays that worry me, They told me ‘April because they’ve hoping for March’. But if I can’t find a second hand one anyway then it is what it is. I should have put a deposit down 6 months ago, but it’s taken this long to agree on a compromise vehicle |

It's a big decision so you needed to be sure what you would be happy with. Whilst it seems to take ages for the delivery day to arrive, once here, all the angst and impatience evaporates.

Have spent a very enjoyable few hours over the past couple of days cleaning the 'van and mobilising for our first trip of the year next weekend. A couple of nights near Stirling to look at a castle and go to a wedding. Looking forward to getting back on the road
