What is a titmouse?

I can definitely see a bearded reedling described beautifully as a bandit. Not sure that is what a titmouse is or not though.

Titmice is basically a tit as in blue tit, great tit etc. LTT isn’t actually a titmouse

You're sending me down a rabbit hole looking at scientific classifications!!!!

Thank you though, you've answered the question though, and like LTTs, I see bearded tits/reedlings aren't tits either.

I'm never going to look at tits again without wondering what sort of bandit they are!

In terms of the previous comments about a lack of swift, swallow numbers, etc, 2+ of the miles on my run tonight were along a river and across fields. I didn't notice a single fly, not one swallowed, none in my eyes, didn't waft a single one off from round my head.

It wasn't exactly the most scientific of experiments, but did seem very alarming.

and I choked on two yesterday and had one in my eye this morning - though the car windscreen certainly doesn't catch as many as it used to

Yes, the car windscreen test was something I came across a while ago.
