Had a day at Frampton Marsh with mum on Weds

(the new cafe there is a nice addition)

1000s of lapwing, more golden plovers than I can remember seeing in one place before, lots of goldeneyes and amongst the other usuals, a (North American) lesser yellowlegs were pointed out to us by one of the wardens.

(Merlin app also wanted me to claim there was a green winged teal amongst the goldeneye and widgeon but doesn't seem likely )

I was on the phone earlier this week talking to my twin and heard one down the phone (he was out with his dog). "Jackie Jackdaw", I shouted, rather excitedly!

Merlin gives me green winged teal reasonably often. I'm pretty certain it was a jackdaw.
Visiting my son in Abingdon, loving all the red kites. Heard but didn't see a drumming woodpecker. Blue and great tits, Robins and wrens giving their singing a lot of welly! Great to hear

Yes, it's getting a lot noisier out there, isn't it? Love it. Multiple song thrushes giving it the full welly on my run this afternoon, and heard one outside the house this morning.

Mind you, my other half is currently on Tenerife with her sister and saw a hoopoe by the hotel swimming pool, so that beats anything I may see or hear here.
