‘My’ yellowhammer(s) was/were singing this morning - in the hedge just where I expected to hear them :)
Need to run the other loop and check another hedgerow next

Skylark singing today, first time I think it's been sunny when I've been walking or running in the last 3 weeks. At the same time a buzzard circling, a pheasant hiding and a Green woodpecker yaffling.

Just caught 2 robins feeding each other (well, I assume a male feeding a female) on the shed roof while I was sorting the bins out. No camera unfortunately. Will keep an eye out.

I commented on skylark singing today in the sun, made me think spring had possibly properly sprung. Though I also heard a skylark singing in what felt like fairly miserable lengthy rain last Saturday.

Saw several herons in flight today, not something I think I've seen before.

I've heard chiffchaffs everywhere once I started getting out last week.

Downloading the Merlin app as I type, I'll look forward to trying it out tomorrow.

Lots of the usual out on the moors today, including a couple of raven, but the highlight was a pair of stonechat doing a flirty flight display.

Lapwing, Curlew, Oystercatcher, Redshank, drumming Snipe, a field full of Golden Plover and a single cronking Raven on my 6:30 run this evening.

And loads of hares.

A few Skylark and Mipits, but still no Wheatear.
