Nice, Fragile. I've never knowingly seen a whimbrel.

A few years ago I posted here about a Canada Goose that chased me along a trail! You're right Kinky, they can run at quite as a pace, in those days I could show a goose my heels but now I don't think so. Let's hope you don't have another wild goose chase!
Bird wise... nothing of note today but possibly, quite possibly a Whitethroat singing.

Lovely bright yellow bird in the hedgerow on my run last night. I think a yellowhammer and although not convinced the facial markings were quite the same, nothing else appropriate seems to fit and my memory probably wrong by the time I finished.

I heard but couldn’t see an amazing array of sounds from a bird in the park this morning. Everything from imitating a crow, to a mobile phone and a whole variety of beeps, boops and whistles!

It sounded like one of those toys you used to get on keyrings with tiny coloured buttons that would play different noises when you pressed them.

My whooper was still around on Thursday, on the canal just beyond Stubbing Wharf (it's lost it's mates so is heading to the pub I reckon) but I wussed out of the run-commute today so not had a chance for further meetings.
