Robin feeding out of my girlfriend's hand tonight. Even with 2 dogs, only a foot away.

Heard my first cuckoo of the year this evening. Lovely gentle trail run, temperature was just right. Perfect evening :)

(Just finished Lee Schofield's (Haweswater rspb guy) book, wild fell; worth a read, I'd say.)

Goldfinches (I had to look them up) on my run a couple days ago. Just in trees by the railway line - 4 of them. Very pretty. Yellowhammers in the garden, again 4, pecking my grass seed! 2 partridge (a pair, from the family of 9 from last year, I think). There's a mr and mrs pheasant too. And I can hear the barn owls, but very rarely spot them. Horrible hissing noise, none of yer tawny toowit-toowoo stuff! And various tits, the robins etc. just on the trees outside my window.

Love birds in spring time. :-) G
