Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thank you for all the advice - I hadn't even considered eBay, which is daft. I'll take a look at what's on there & also keep an eye out for any Aldi/Lidl action.

A lone whooper on the river, a new commuting tick for me. Hopefully it will find its friends again and not get left behind...

Stunning bird up close heart

I'd almost gone past it (oh, swan...) before I realised what I was looking at. It was calling so fingers crossed it's just a bit lost rather than ill...

I had a new visitor to my garden today a very noisy nuthatch. He liked the food in my bird feeder as was back and forth all afternoon.

A run this evening by the river so a fair few very splendid cormorants tonight. And a swan hunkered down on her nest. Once I finished a mallard all but waddled into my open car. Very curious.

First few golden plover up on the moor yesterday morning, along with a load of mippits and skylarks doing a rather elegant airborne courtship dance.

Also what looked like a large raptor. It didn't look quite l;ike one, but the only answer I can come up with was a raven ... unless there is something unusual about.

We’ve just had a Sparrowhawk sitting on our upside down wheelbarrow demolishing a Sparrow. Sticking to correct name today rather than a Robinhawk thankfully.

The garden birds all went pretty quiet for a bit. It sat on the fat balls on it’s way out the garden as well as if you make a point!
