New camera Um. Nothing like the sort of gear you play with but a considerable step up from my phone! It's a bridge camera, a Canon Powershot SX7 HS. Light enough to carry easily (600g) but with a built in lens that gives a 65x zoom equivalent to a 1365mm lens. So far I've been very impressed with what I achieve with it.

They're good ff. I started with SX's - only as far as SX20 though. Which my daughter (Off Roader) then had until last year, when she got an SX70, and gets very good results with it. Often as good as mine at a lot less cost.

This handsome young lad sat on our fence for about 30 minutes this morning. Needless to say, the local birdlife kept their distance!

I work at a swimming lake and we've got a large marquee with windows and rolled-up window shades. A wren has nearly completed a nest in one end of a rolled-up shade. I had to email the general manager to let her know not to unroll the shade and we're also not able to move the marquee either. We're getting a laminated sign to alert people to the potential small bird family - although the female may not select that particular nest.
