Song Thrush singing this morning. Robins having a go for a while. Both quite typical at this time of year. Bluebells showing in the garden, as usual again at this time of year and I'll be looking for catkins this week, they were showing on Boxing Day last year. Roll on Spring, just another couple of hundred miles! (for me!)

Seen several kingfishers the last few days, after not seeing one for months.
Not sure if its just the foliage dying back making them more visible and skittish, or they've returned to their safer winter patches now it's getting colder.

Nice group of sanderling this afternoon at low tide
Kingfisher are common on reaches of the Leeds Liverpool canal. You’d be extremely unlucky not to see one between Silsden and Shipley if walking a few miles. They aren’t common on the river Worth; you’re much more likely to see (or hear) a dipper

I’ve nothing visual that can be shared but it was pleasant to hear an Owl while on a predawn run. In the past in the same area though I’ve had a visual contact by way of my head torch reflecting off majestic wings as it crossed my path.

Running in the hills of Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, today, with oodles of fieldfares moving among the hawthorn bushes. Also seen lots of redwings in the fields.

Also saw a kingfisher today - whilst running along a tiny bit of the Kingfisher way
No winter thrushes as yet and fewer geese on the fields, but lapwing numbers a little up again

Today's solstice marathon over the moors had flocks of starling, redwing and fieldfare; mippits, a huge skein of pinkies coming over from DT-land, an upland heron, and hoardes of little things flitting around in the various wooded areas. As well as all the usual corvids. Not a single wintering wader though
