Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

:-) thanks DT I've seen swallows over over this lake in the summer and no doubt swifts and sand martins too, so I may go back when the fret clears and I get my proper camera back.

Swallows on the phone line this morning :)
and a very "shouty" Cetti's, could hear it for ages before I finally spotted it.

One swan still sitting on eggs and one empty nest - I could see the adults on the river but behind lots of greenery so didn't spot the cygnets.

Up on the North York Moors at the weekend and saw curlew and black? or red grouse.....looked darker than expected but nothing as distinctive as the male can be. Cackling call.
A Jay, possibly the same one twice in Guisborough woods.
Also a hare and at night, a group of red deer nimbly getting off the path and watching us from the woods.

Lesser Black Backed Gulls nesting on my chimney stack. A bit of a racket at times when they change places on the nest and I'm sure it will be noisy and sometimes annoying when the chicks hatch.

LBB gull is a really smart bird. Much nicer to have on your roof than say herring gull :-)

watching a very malevolent magpie hunting around the tree where the blackbirds are nesting..they're trying to drive it off.

Sadly, my sighting today has been a dead hen :( I am extremely find of my chickens so even loosing one to old age hurts...

However: robin was feeding his young and a kakophony if really big, about to fletch, birds came from the nest :)

We let the garden grow wild until June just found this in the dogwood. Never spotted the activity else would have put a motion camera on it for a bit...

That looks as though it was predated? Think usually the parents remove the eggshells when chicks hatch😢
