No swifts yet. Due to injury stuck at home, but has been great watching the swallows and house martins flitting around the fields, insect city at the moment. Their shift is then taken over by the bats come evening. Still waiting for a swallow to actually land in the garden. |

DT, midginess is good for the birds! I've been a bit concerned how few flying insects there have been so far this "Spring", because without them a lot of birds will struggle. The change to a southerly wind must help.

bats this evening Saw several blackcaps this morning and the swallows in one of their usual haunts Still no cuckoo and the neighbours house martins haven't come home |

Midges not too bad - but it's horrible hawthorn (st Mark's) fly season. I hate them - nasty black things!
