I'm pretty sure I saw a swift or 2 yesterday flying low over local fields.

I was in the New Forest today and thought that there were swift rather than house martins, but couldn't be sure as they didn't stay still long enough. ;-)
I also heard another cuckoo, that brings my count up to 4 this year.

alpenrose - there's loads of cuckoos at the moment. Today - one near Cadnam Pool, one two at Latchmore Bottom/Sloden Inclosure, another at the top end of Sloden nr Ragged Boys Hill. And another at Rakes Brakes Bottom. (which I swa fly into a tree, wondered 'what's that?' and then it started.
I did record one, but not sure (yet) how to go from .mov on a camera to .mp3 or sound track - and lose the wind noise.

DT, swifts over Hebden on Friday, and over the house today, so they're not far away from you now!

Also heard a couple of cuckoos in the woods above Staveley while in the Lakes yesterday.

Still no sign of whitethroats and not managed a good view of either chiff or WW yet this year, despite hearing them all over the place.
