I came across this the other day and bought it. It's an excellent guide to birdsong. I've got it on repeat in the van.

Been enjoying a gorgeous red-bellied woodpecker on the feeders this week. Confusingly named bird, as most of the red plumage is on its head

Photo from last year, but she's back, as of Monday morning. Sat down at the feeder within 2 yards of me for a nice long drink.

Welcome back to Allentown PA, Hummie! (Mrs. Ruby-Throated if you insist on formalities)

Down in Suffolk today for a warbler-loud walk, and just as I was heading back, saw my first swift of the year, followed a little while later by another. Maybe they'll be scything over my garden tomorrow. Certainly the change in the weather is what they needed - startlingly warm this evening by comparison with yesterday.

Swallows as I ran by the River Rife today.

Last year we hardly saw any sparrows, but happy to report there are loads of them about this year.

J2R I’ve been for a walk this evening round Haworth and the temp change is startling. Swift definitely on the target list for tomorrow (same as every day since mid-late April then)

When you're trying to figure out if the wee bird across the river is a chiff or a willow warbler and a kingfisher does a flyby 😁

I'm currently holding my breath because a pair of swallows are checking out the barn! It will make my year if they decide to stay as there have been a couple of seasons now when the skies over the farmyard have been quiet; I love the company that comes with nesting swallows!!! ....... Still not breathing. :)
