Cold weather has really put birdsong off. Barely a willow warbler heard today and they have been in seemingly every suitable bush / small tree recently

Was lucky enough to hear a curlew on the farm on Sunday. Such an evocative and distinctive call, it always makes my heart flutter.

Tonight we took a drive up the Antrim Coast Road, starting from Larne and finishing in Ballycastle. Sitting in a car park waiting for fish & chips, looking at Fair Head and Rathlin. Utterly spectacular. Birds seen include gannets, eider, fulmar, ravens and (heard but not seen) skylarks.
