UK hoopoe is a lovely tick. Think I’d be tempted normally if 35 miles away. I probably wouldn’t now though

There was a hoopoe at teh RSPB Conwy reserve a couple of years ago, I was going to go and see it until somebody posted the pictures of it being caught by a Peregrine (IIRC) in mid flight.

So be quick!

I thought the lammergeier was back off to the Alps? I can't see Norfolk being much to its taste (fine county though it is), but I imagined it would just carry on rather than turn back.

I saw a lovely little grey wagtail on the weir this evening. I think it must be a young one as it's definitely smaller than the adults I've seen nearby in the past
