Fragile Do Not Bend
Great action shots um!
A better camera and lenses will only get you so far, there gets a point where the only way to get a better picture is to get closer to the subject (which would probably involve a hide and a lot of waiting).

I've so far got away with getting second hand, third party lenses. Bought an entry level nikon from argos a couple of years ago. Then have a sigma 70-300mm, and the sigma 50-500mm. I can happily sit in a hide for 6 hours and see nothing. I'm happy with the standard of my pictures as its about sharing that moment I have haf with my friends and family. However, I always want to get a longer lens and would like some to be a bit sharper but had to hold back from spending more.

Still got swifts. Low cloud today so watching them outside the window whilst I'm working.

This is a laugh..!..I saw my first and only Swallow so far this year yesterday morning; and as for Swifts the skies are empty in my locality. Haven't seen a single House Martin either. Ok, they are about over local waters just five or six miles away but the urban skies here are empty. Plenty of Willow/Chiffs about and likely on passage. One or two Blackcaps still singing but most silent or gone.

Chiffs still quite vocal here. Most of the other Warbers are fairly silent, though being reported on and off. I had a possible Gropper the other day but haven't heard a Blackcap or Whitethroat for a while now and even the Reed Warblers have largely gone quiet.

Still have screeching swifts here, and plenty of chiffchaffs, whitethroats, blackcaps doing their thing. Obviously a lot less than a few weeks ago, though.
Delighted to find that my garden hedgehog visit of a couple of weeks ago was clearly not a one-off - yesterday evening there were two in the garden that seemed to know each other (maybe family). It was interesting to see the reaction of my two cats to them as well - they didn't bat an eyelid, clearly very used to seeing them. I wouldn't be surprised if the hedgehogs are there at some point most nights.
